By accessing and using getjukeboxd.com or its associated apps (the "Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these community guidelines, which are part of our wider Terms of Service. The Jukeboxd community is united by a love of live music—but we all have different tastes, backgrounds, and lived experiences.
1. Be Respectful and Courteous:
We expect members of our community to be courteous and
respectful of others' opinions about live music events, DJ sets, and performances. You must not
post unwelcome, aggressive, suggestive, or otherwise inappropriate remarks directed at another
member, artists, performers, venues, or our team. Remember that music taste is subjective—what
moves you might not move someone else, and that's perfectly fine.
2. No Harassment or Malicious Behavior:
You must not use the Service for any malicious purposes, or to
abuse, harass, threaten, intimidate, or impersonate any other member, artist, performer, or
venue. You must not request or attempt to solicit personal or identifying information from
another member or our team. This includes coordinated attacks against artists, performers,
events, or other users.
3. Hate Has No Home Here:
Creativity of expression has a home on Jukeboxd, hate does
not. You must not use the Service to promote, engage in, or incite hate, violence,
discrimination, or intolerance, including based on race, age, gender, gender identity,
ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected attribute. We reserve
the right to remove content that has the potential to harm communities we consider worthy of
protection and to consider off-platform behavior as part of our moderation process.
4. Review Live Events Only:
You must not log or review a live music event, DJ set, or
performance because it has the same name as a piece of content not listed on the platform, such
as a recorded album or unrelated media. Jukeboxd is specifically for live experiences—concerts,
festivals, DJ sets, live performances, and similar events. If you attended a live performance,
that's what should be reviewed.
5. Write Original Content:
You must not plagiarize anyone else's writing. Write your own
reviews and create your own lists. If referencing others' work (e.g., song lyrics, event photos,
quotes from interviews), you must clearly attribute it using quotation marks, links, or other
appropriate means. Your content must be original and must not infringe any third party's
intellectual property rights.
6. No Gaming the System:
You must not create multiple accounts, deceive or mislead
other users, disrupt discussions, circumvent account blocks, game the Service's mechanics, or
alter consensus. You must not follow an excessively high number of accounts (or like an
excessive number of reviews or lists) in order to generate reciprocal follows or likes and
thereby manipulate your account's popularity. You must not recreate or reproduce platform
features that are exclusively included with our paid accounts.
7. No Spam or Promotional Abuse:
You must not post spam or use the Service primarily for
promotional purposes. While sharing your genuine experiences at events is encouraged, repeatedly
posting promotional content, fake reviews, or irrelevant material is not allowed. If you're an
artist, venue, or promoter, you're welcome to use Jukeboxd authentically, but not to spam or
manipulate the platform.
8. Respect Intellectual Property:
You must not upload, share, or link to copyrighted music,
images, or other media without proper authorization. This includes bootleg recordings,
unauthorized photos, or other copyrighted content. You may share your own photos from events
(where permitted by the venue) and discuss the music you heard, but respect artists' and venues'
intellectual property rights.
9. Keep It Legal and Safe:
You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or post
any information that breaches confidentiality obligations or other legal requirements. We do not
allow content or activity that sexually exploits or endangers children. When we become aware of
apparent child exploitation, we report it in compliance with applicable laws. If you encounter
any such material, please report it immediately.
10. No Misinformation:
We reserve the right to remove content that disseminates
misinformation, disinformation, or related manipulations, including viral sloganeering. This
includes false information about events, artists, venues, or health and safety matters related
to live music events.
11. Support Team Interactions:
You must not mislead our support or moderation
representatives, such as by making false or malicious reports about other members or their
content, or by sending (or encouraging others to send) multiple reports regarding the same
content or issue. Such behaviors may result in action being taken on your account, including
suspension or termination.
12. Content Removal:
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to remove any
content posted to the Service that we deem offensive, objectionable, unlawful, explicit,
graphic, or otherwise in breach of these guidelines. This includes content that expressly (or
implicitly, through coded language, symbols, keywords, or tags) praises, supports, promotes, or
represents white-nationalist or neighboring ideologies.
13. Enforcement:
If you do not abide by these guidelines or our Terms of
Service, we may terminate or suspend your account. This policy is a living document that is
constantly updated to reflect new trends and evidence. Our moderation team strives to understand
evolving behavior, terms, context, and forms of expression in the live music community.
14. Reporting Issues:
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these
guidelines, please report it using the relevant Report option available throughout the Service.
We take all reports seriously and will investigate them promptly. For urgent safety concerns,
contact us directly at team@getjukeboxd.com.
Basically, be excellent to each other.
